Tel*Tell CARD Terms of Use

ARTICLE 1: COVERAGE OF TERMS OF USE

These terms of use will apply when you purchase and/or use a Tel*Tell CARD issued by Rsystem Co., Ltd.

ARTICLE 2: PURCHASE OF Tel*TELL CARD

Tel*Tell CARDs can be purchased through our website or at participating outlets. Purchase methods are subject to prior agreements made between Rsystem and the participating outlet.

ARTICLE 3: INTERPRETATION SERVICES

  1. Interpretation Service
    Description: The operator who receives your call will interpret your statements from Japanese to English/Chinese/Korean, (and/or from English/Chinese/Korean to Japanese) to the third person. The operator will only interpret the statements made by the customer.
  2. Operating Hours
    Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Chinese and Korean interpretation services are available from 9:00am to 10:00pm, Japan Standard Time.
  3. Duration of Calls
    Each call may last up to 15 minutes starting from the time you give the operator your PIN.
    You may ask for multiple interpretations during one call as long as the time allows. However, the 15 minutes may be extended if the line is disconnected due to failure of the communication device or a technical problem through the telephone carrier.
  4. Level of Interpretation
    Our interpretation services can be utilized only when the content of conversation is on a both ordinary and non-technical level, such as basic conversation while traveling abroad or within Japan. Consult us for business/financial transactions, soliciting activities or price negotiations.
  5. Liability for Calling Charges
    The customer is responsible for all calling charges accumulated during the call(s).
  6. Right to Assess Time and Content of Call
    We reserve the right to assess the duration of the call and content, and have the right to decline interpretation if the content is deemed objectionable. (including some, but not all business/financial transactions, soliciting activities, price negotiations at our discretion.)

ARTICLE 4: CARD TYPES

Card types and the number of points are as follows:

  1. 1,500 CARD (2 points)
  2. 3,000 CARD (5 points)
  3. 5,000 CARD (10 points)

ARTICLE 5: HOW TO USE

The way to use the Tel*Tell CARD interpretation service is as follows:

  1. Dial the number on the back of the Tel*Tell card.
  2. When you are connected to the operator, give him/her your 9-digit PIN number under the security label (Scratch to reveal it). The fifteen minute call begins when you give the operator your PIN.
  3. We will confirm your card balance through your PIN number and will start the interpretation only when validity and the number of points required are confirmed.
  4. Tell the operator what you would like interpreted either in Japanese or in English/Chinese/Korean, and hand the phone to the third party. The operator will then interpret your statements into Japanese or English/Chinese/Korean, and interpret for you and the third party.
  5. The operator has the right to disconnect the line if the objective of the call is considered to have been fulfilled or if the call time exceeds 15 minutes.

ARTICLE 6: SERVICES CANNOT BE OFFERED WHEN:

  1. There is a possibility that the card may have been issued improperly or illegally.
  2. We speculate the customer obtained the card illegally or uses a card that was issued improperly.
  3. The operator cannot confirm the remaining service balance through the provided 9-digit PIN.
  4. We suspect that the service balance is zero or that the card has expired.
  5. The card is banned from use.
  6. The customer calls from where the use of the phone is limited or prohibited by law, regulations or notifications.
  7. The customer calls from where conversation with a third party is limited or prohibited by law, regulations or notifications.
  8. The requested interpretation violates/could violate the law or lead to criminal acts.
  9. The requested interpreatation violates/could violate the law, regulations or notifications.
  10. The requested interpretation offends/could offend public order and morals.
  11. The line is disconnected. (If it is impossible to continue the conversation due to a cause that we are not responsible for, such as a failure of the communication device, poor reception or a technical problem with the telephone carrier.)
  12. The operator cannot answer your call because all lines are busy.
  13. Interpretation requested necessitates some level of specialized knowledge and we are unable to guarantee interpretation to the satisfaction of the customer and that we determine that there is a possibility it will not be to the benefit of the customer. (e.g. rules of a game at a casino)

     

Please note that you cannot make any claims for compensation under the aforementioned circumstances.

ARTICLE 7: TERM OF VALIDITY

The cards are valid for use for one year from date of purchase. Cards may be recharged (at additional charge) within 2 years from date of purchase.. From the date of recharge, the cards are valid for an additional year for general usage and additional two years for recharging

ARTICLE 8: TRANSFER OF CARD

Customers may give the card and its remaining service balance to others. In which case, we ask that the card itself be given (and not just the number) for security purposes.

 

ARTICLE 9: REDEMPTION POLICY

For no reason whatsoever can an unused card or a remaining balance be redeemed for cash.

ARTICLE 10: RECORDING OF CALLS

All telephone conversations between the operators, the customer, and the third party will be recorded. The retention period of the recorded conversations is to be less than 6 months from the day the conversations take place.

ARTICLE 11: PRIVACY POLICY

In principle, Rsystem and our operators shall NOT ask for your personal data in order to provide our services. However, in some situations, we may be obliged to have your or the third party's personal data in order to provide better services.
Please note that the personal data collected will be treated based on our privacy policy.

 

ARTICLE 12: DISCLAIMER

Rsystem shall NOT be liable for any loss or damages caused by the result of our interpretation services as long as the provision of our services is commonly believed to be done adequately.

Rsystem shall NOT be liable for any loss or damages caused by the result of our bilingual telephone assistance services as long as the provision of our services is commonly believed to be done adequately.

 

ARTICLE 13: MODIFICATION OF TERMS OF USE

These terms of use may be modified as necesssary, and the updated version shall always be applicable at any time. You shall check the latest terms of use on our website during the term of validity.

 

 

Terms of Use For Translation Services

Article 1: COVERAGE OF TERMS OF USE

These terms of use govern the translation services of Rsystem Co., Ltd. By signing up for the service, you will be deemed to accept these terms of use.

Article 2: COVERAGE OF SERVICES

  • We only offer translation from English/Chinese/Korean to Japanese, and from Japanese to English/Chinese/Korean.
  • In principle, we offer translation services of ordinary documents, not of a level that requires specialized knowledge or esoteric interpretation such as laws and bylaws. We reserve the right to make the final decision on this matter.
  • Our mission is to offer accurate translation of the material given by service users, not to make suggestions or propositions that are considered to be beyond the scope of our service.
  • We reserve the right to halt the implementation of the service at our discretion without your consent if we view any request(s) made by you to be inappropriate.

Article 3: PRICE AND PAYMENT

  • Prices will differ according to the document(s), and payment methods may differ according to the client. We will notify the client of the total charges for our services (method of calculation, payment and billing) with each requested document.
  • The client shall pay the set price by the agreed payment method, and will be responsible for the bank transfer fee(s) and other necessary expense(s) for the payment.
  • In order to receive our services, first time clients and one time orders must make payments in advance. Payment timelines for clients on long term contracts are open to negotiation. All clients will be responsible for bank transfer fee(s) and other necessary expense(s) for the payment.

Article 4: PRIVACY

We are committed to preserving your information provided to us during the process. We do NOT distribute it to any third parties unless;

  • We are required to do so by law.
  • We disclose statistical information we collect for the purpose of understanding service trends in which customers' identities cannot be identified.
  • We have your consent to disclose it upon our request.

We delete any client information in an appropriate way once the service is completed. However, we hold the material/ information supplied to us when it is considered to be information worth retaining. By signing up for the service, clients will be deemed to accept our security measures regarding their privacy.

Article 5: NOTIFICATION AND APPROVAL

Any information will be notified to clients by fax, E-mail or will be posted on our website. When we pass on information by fax and E-mail, the notification will be recognized to be completed at the time of sending. When we post it on the website, the notification will be recognized to be completed at the time of its availability.
When we give you any notification in the set way, we will consider it approved by you after 30 days.

Article 6: CANCELLATION AND REFUND

We do NOT accept cancellation and/or refunds for any reason after the completion of a contract.

Article 7: LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY FOR SERVICE

We are not liable for any losses and/or any damage caused by use or failure to use of our service.
We are not liable for any losses and/or any damage to third parties caused by use or failure to use our service.

Article 8: LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INTERRUPTION/ CESSATION OF SERVICE

We reserve the right to interrupt and/or halt the implementation of the service without your consent if;

Our computer system has an accidental breakdown.
We cannot provide the service due to an emergency (such as natural disasters)
We decide it needs to be interrupted and/or halted.
We are not liable for any losses caused by interruption and/or halt of the service for any reason.

Article 9: INDEMNITY

Except for the cases mentioned in the terms of use, we will indemnify the client by paying them the price of the service which caused the losses when we do not implement the liability for which we are responsible, as mentioned in the terms of use. We, however, are NOT liable for damages and/or loss of profit arising from unpredictable circumstances. The client shall indemnify us against any losses arising from any breach of the terms of use and/or any tortuous act by you.

Article 10: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

All the Intellectual Property Rights including texts, files, services and procedures, which compose our service, are owned by Rsystem except when otherwise noted.
However, if one impinges on a third party's rights (such as disclosing, duplicating, modifying or translating their copyrighted works) they must take full responsibility and Rsystsem will not be liable for any losses and damages.

Article 11: INTEREST IN ARREARS

If you fail to make all payments (including fees) by the due date specified by us, you will be deemed to pay us the  interest in arrears. The interest to be paid will be calculated on the basis of our annual interest rate, which will become effective on the following day of the due date until the day actual payment is made.

Article 12: GOVERNING LAW

The governing laws for these terms of use shall be those of Japan.
